23rd January 2002 premiere : raw footage of making of zulu 1963 anybody interested ?
By jay
24 minutes of unique footage filmed by a tv crew during the filming of zulu 1963.
I want to organise a meeting with everyone interested. This footage has been lost for probably more than 35 years. Please come and see for yourself.
Can anybody help me organising this?
many thanks.

I'd be glad to help in any way I can, for a chance to see the footage. But where are you and when would you want to do this, and what help could I provide?

Hi! I'd love to see the footage! The only problem is that I live in Swansea, South Wales? Glad to be of service in any way I can! Thanks! Glenn

Hi Jay,

Can I suggest you use this discussion to test the water (as you already are doing) and if people are interested, we'll create a seperate page with details of where it's showing etc, and people can register via email to come and see it.

You mentioned there was a local hall in a previous email.. Is this still on the cards?

Sounds a good idea ,sure there`s plenty of us would like to see it.

Me too! I live in the West Midlands so distance might be a problem. If there are no copy right issues you could get it transfered to video and offer it for sale. I'm sure that the good people at the Museum in Brecon would be pleased to advise you. Before doing this you must check on copy right as this is a legal mine field!

I also would be interested - I live in the West Midlands but would be willing to travel for this event.

I live on the other side of our planet. Frankly what are the chances of having it put on video ? I'd pay for a copy as I am sure others would.
Failing that, you are welcome to use my lounge if you would like to screen it here

I live in the North Island of New Zealand Greg. I'd love to see the extra footage but it is a long way to go. I also know a lot of Yanks from the Martini forum who would also like to view it.
Not much of a summer to date but we have been told that is all going to change.

I live in Worcestershire so it depends on where you are as regards help but as an o.a.p. I have plenty of time on my hands, if I cant help I am certainly intersted in seeing the footage and truly hope it can be made into a video. Clive

A video sounds great,it would mean people like Barry would have a chance to see it.I have an old video at home. It has on it the following. "Black as hell thick as grass" a Timewatch programme on Prince Imperial . Its my favorite."middle English" a schools programme on the making of "Zulu Dawn" narrated by James Faulkner. the last 20 mins is all out-takes from "zulu Dawn".Were the last item came from i do not know ,the chap who gave me the tape didnt mention any thing about them?.

Now add your tape Greg to that of Jay's and you will have a real must own "Zulu" tape. I'd love to see both of them.
Last week I saw "Zulu Dawn" for the first time. A few bits impressed me (One has to compare it to Zulu) but the props left a lot to be desired.
