5th February 2002	Abandoning the storehouse? By Glenn Wade Hi! I was wondering what would have happened if Chard was forced to abandon the storehouse sector rather than the hospital sector? Does anyone have any thoughts to what would have happened? Thanks!

6th February 2002	Alan Critchley Glenn, bear in mind that the hospital was the first building which the Zulus came across as they approached from the South East. The view from the store house was extensive. The barrier to the storeroom was sturdy, the well build cattle kraal next to the storeroom, an excellent defensive position. I therefore don't think Chard would have abandoned the storeroom, they would have been killed. Alan
6th February 2002	Steve Tiplady In addition a redoubt had been constructed in front of the storehouse for a final stand should the area in front of the storehouse need to be abandoned. Also, was it not the hospital that caught fire thereby forcing it to be abandoned
