There's a potted biography of Henry Harford, of the 99th, in Daphne Child's edit of his journal - 'The Zulu War Journal of Colonel Henry Harford, C.B.' ISBN 0 86985 273 6 published in 1978 by Shuter & Shooter Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
