28th April 2005	24th Collar Numerals By Nigel Hello all, I'm trying to get a definitive answer on a question that has me much vexed - were the brass collar numerals for the 24th always a single item, or were they made up of seperate brass 2s and 4s? I ask because I have several period 2s and 4s in my collection, but have yet to find them as a single 24. I was told some time ago by a fellow collector in the US that both single 24s and seperate 2s and 4s were issued, but as yet I've been unable to substantiate that claim...

28th April 2005	Pete Marshall I believe you'll find that single, white metal, '2' & '4' were used on tunics and brass '24' were used on undress-frocks. Beware of replicas. Cheers Pete
