Date | Original Topic | 10th April 2002 | Zulu Sheild By Alex Rossiter Today on a trip to oxford in the pitt rivers museum (based in oxford national history museum) i noticed a zulu sheild which is supposed to have been obtained in a hand to hand combat during the zulu war ,unfortunetly there was no more information as to which battle but the sheild was greyish black,just thought id post this incase anyone goes there in the future | Date | Replies | 24th April 2002 | rai england Hi Alex,
W.A.Lane-Fox(Pitt-Rivers) 91st Regt, was probably the obtainer of the shield, at Gingingdhlouv, he dropped the Pitt-Rivers part of the name in the 1880's.
