By Peter Critchley
Hi all!

Over the last couple of months, we have been working on ideas for items we could produce and sell to help keep this site online. We've come up with a range of products which we hope you'll all like... Please could you have a look at:

and let us know what you think...

All the best, as ever

Congratulations on your choice of items - I'm sure it will be a success. I'll certainly be placing an order today - the only problem is restricting myself to a couple of items.

I like the idea. I would love to see a greater selection of old prints, though.

They look great as they are, BUT...how about either a) putting them in more older style frames (more expensive, but sure they would look better), or b) selling them without frames and leaving that important choice to the customer?

Hi Alun,

Fair point - We'll take that on-board and may well just offer the prints as they come..

Some nice ideas how about pens, pencils and jigsaws

Great ideas about shirts. Sorry to be a pedant, but I do have a few quibbles/suggestions. Would red be a popular colour for the shirts ? The addition of a picture might also be an option (although I realise representations from the film would be problematical because of cost/copyright ). My pedantic quibble is that the illustrated shirt is mis- spelled ! It should be " All....right then " NOT "Al....right then ".

Finally, how about caps? You know how our American cousins are crazy about baseball caps ! ( no offence to US readers ).

Hi Scott..

Thanks for the feedback - It is appreciated.. We plan to do more items if people take up those which we have already produced.. Caps are a good idea, and we will almost certainly be producing these.. What would you suggest is on them?

As for the spelling, it's right I'm afraid! :)

Pictures from the film COULD be OK, but to be honest, there's so much in the way of genuine photos etc around, so maybe that's a way round it?

Thanks again Scott, it's only with feedback that we can get the products right...

All the best,

Peter

Peter,
Thanks for the response. I continue to be impressed by this well run site with courteous and highly competent webmasters.

The caps could have similar sayings as the shirts, the word "Zulu" in the style of the film, the website name with vc icon, or even a 24th Foot theme ( if not already done by the regiment themselves).Pictures of the characters who actually say the lines would be good for the shirts ( and in British Army red ! )

Minatures/movie figures are great souvenirs but are probably a) widely available commercially b) expensive to produce by other than large companies and c) hand made already by serious gamers.

To conclude my pedantic grammar observation ( in a good humoured vein ), I suppose it depends on which school you went to. Both all right and alright are widely used and few would worry like me, but I did baulk at purchasing this shirt because of it. Thousands wouldn't ! If I may indulge your patience, I note Fowler's Modern English Usage also comments "The use of all right, or inability to see that there is anything wrong with alright, reveals one's background, upbringing, education, etc., perhaps as much as any word in the language."

Keep up the good work on a brilliant website !

Hi Scott,

Thanks again for the feedback - I'll certainly pass this onto Alan, who is in charge of the "procurement" side of things...

I'm afraid I'm increasingly from the school of 'Microsoft Word' when it comes to spelling - Sad, but true...

Thanks again!

All the best,

Peter

you could by the figures off a company then paint them all though that could be time consuming you could probably sell them painted for triple the price bought from manurfactorer.
Excelent items in the shop so far ill be sure to purchase some
