Date | Original Topic | 20th August 2002 | Climate By Nat Powell Quick question, approx. how long does daylight last in South Africa in mid-January, and what are the average daytime and nightime temperatures? Just curious, as the events of Isandhlwana and Rorkes Drift took place at that time. | Date | Replies | 23rd August 2002 | Peter Quantrill Nat,
Sunrise on 22 Jan 1879 was 0520 hrs. Sunset was 1920 hrs.
The average day temperature during January is 30 degrees C. At night it falls to an average of 20 degrees C.
Humididity levels average 70 degrees.
January/february is a good time to be out of Natal!
