Yes a very major one - they're totally different!
The officers' button is a '24' surrounded by a foliate design - if you've got Jim Bancroft's 'Rorke's Drift' the button is illustrated on page 150.
The other-ranks worn a 'General Service' button which is the Royal Coat of Arms - a crowned lion as the left supporter & a unicorn as the right, holding the crowned inscribed Garter Belt, which surrounds the coat of arms of Great Britain.
