Date | Original Topic | 3rd September 2001 | What is a good price for a Martini-Henry? By Thomas I live in the states and was looking into picking up a Martini-Henry Rifle. I was curious if any one here has any insight on to what a good price would be, or even a good place to pick one up, as well as ammo.
I know this is question is some what hard to answer because price can very so much depending on quality, venue, model, ect but I was hoping you guys might have some tips on what I should look for as wekk as what I might expect to pay for one. Thanks

Just for starters, at a recent Houston Gun show, one vendor was offering a smooth-bore Martini, fair condition and no ammo for $700.

Try this site Thomas. They will tell you ALL you want to know. US$700 is high for a smooth-bore. I say don't take it. You can do better if you work at it. If you are after a shooter you should be able to get a MKIV for that price. MKII and IIIs might cost a little more. NEW ammo can be bought but costs an arm and a leg. Roll your own is the way to go. E mail me direct if I can be of more help to you.

New Zealand | 23rd September 2001 | Bob Morris Thomas, also try John C. Denner at denner.hogarth.com in Canada. They have Martinis on sale and a lot of other military stuff too. Be quick as they go very fast. On their site just now are two MK 111 weapons (Sold) at Canadian $1250 and $1500, and a Mk 1V for Canadian $595, unsold. Have a look. |
