Does anyone have any documented eveidence of Chard's relationship with the Queen?

Any of the well researched books on the subject will tell you about the 31 year old Chard and his visit to Balmoral to meet Queen Victoria, who was in her sixties, after his return from Zululand and that there is no evidence that they ever met again.
