2nd May 2003 | Map By Alex I am looking for a layout of the fortifications and the layout of the bulidings before and after the battle of rorke's drift. Do you know of any place I can get them or if anybody here has them that they could send or scan me? |

This is the actual map that Lt. Chard drew after the battle. It was kindly sent to us by the RRW Museum in Brecon.
All the best,

2nd May 2003 | Chris John Hi Alex, let me answer your questions. First, there were a couple of different maps of the defences at RD, but the best is the one on this site. Also, if you look at the map on this site and look to the right where you see a little circular fortification known as the re-doubt, that is where the men made there last stand and fought off the last Zulu Attack.
Hope this is of some help

4th May 2003 | Alex Thanks for all the help. The reason I was wondering where the Britsih fell back too was because in the movie Zulu, it looked like they retreated back to another rampart before retreating back to make their final stand at the firing step. |
