Gary | Date | Replies | 5th May 2003 | John Young Gary,
Many of the king's important commanders "came in" to use the contemporary parlance - in other words surrendered. I actually have a photograph of a mass surrender taken some time in August/September 1879.
A number of important izinduna obviously signed the 'surrender document' on 1st September, 1879. Many of those iziinduna took part in the running of KwaZulu during King Cetshwayo's imprisonment/exile.
John Y. | 5th May 2003 | Gary Laliberty John,
Thank you, for your information. Your last part about the izinduna running the country, was something that I have read about.
May I be so bold, to ask you...and if it's possible on your part. For a 'copy' of that photograph via e-mail to me? And again thank you for your information.
Gary | 20th May 2003 | Trevor Finney Dear John.
Would you be so kind as to E mail me a copy of the picture of the Zulu Mass surrender please.
Regards
T Finney |
