The figures are taken from the updated version of my book The Roll Call which will appear as an article in the Royal Zulu War Society's magazine later this year with full names, details, etc. | 29th July 2003 | ADRIAN WRIGHT Having read many (about 16 or 17) books on the zulu war and in particular Isandlwana, there seems to be differences of opinion as to the attacking positions of the Umbonambi, Uve and Ingobamakosi regiments on the camp at Isandlwana. Please can somebody let me know exactly which regiment was furthest south and which one was on the immediate left of the Umcijo regiment. Also how far out from the British camp at Isandlwana was `G' company 2/24th first deployed.
many thanks. |
