Zulu funeral observances during wartime. By Steven Sass In the aftermath of some battles, i.e., Rorke's Drift, Khambula, it was impracticable or even impossible for the Zulu to recover their dead. Does anyone know if the Zulu engaged in any ritual memorialization of their dead if one's body was not recovered? Furthermore, what was the protocol for the administration of the deceased warrior's estate (cattle, wives, etc.)?
