13th December 2001 | what would you like to see if... By jay suppose you would have a camera and you would be on the filmset when they are actually shooting the film "zulu" in 1963. What would you like most to put on film?
i.e. the arrival of the actors on Capetown airport, Jack Hawkins getting in a limousine and Sir Michael Caine with a cigarette getting onto a bus, or seeing how the zulu costumes were made etc,etc
I think I may well produce these pictures and send them to this site if you wish. |

14th December 2001 | David Wachtel I would love to see the pictures, too. I would especially like to see how the first scene in the Kraal was filmed. I know the Director could not say "wait a minute and we should shoot it again". I would think it would be interesting to find out how that dance scene was filmed.
I encourage yo to put the pictues on this site for us all to see. |
14th December 2001 | Greg king I found out my copy of "movie collecter"mag it features an article titled Zulu behind the scenes.I picked it up by pure chance back in March 94`.It features 5 or6 shots of the film during production ,the most unusual being of Stanley Baker in a bowler hat inspecting the Zulu maidens prior to their dance scene.Theres an interesting shot of one of the zulu attacks being filmed from a trench that gave the ground eye view. The article that accomponies the photos is very good and gives a good insight into the making of the film and,the problems faced, and the light hearted moments that cropped up.The magazine doesnt seem to do backdates so at a risk of copy right.Ill risk sending a photo copy to anyone who wishes to send a S.A.E . e-mail me fist at my above address and ill give my home address. |
