Date | Original Topic | 18th December 2001 | Drawings/Prints By Harry Does anyone know of an American artist who specialised in sketches of military figures in action? I have seen in the past a print depicting an infantryman of the 24th in close combat with a Zulu warrior. I made a note of the artist but have since lost it. The artist, I think, is more latter day. Anybody have any clues? | Date | Replies | 18th December 2001 | Martin Everett Dear,
There are two American artists one named Rocco (who depicted Rorke's Drift) and the other Bud Bradshaw. We have copies of their works in the museum. I will see whether there are any contact addresses. You may find something on Cranston Fine Art Prints - see links on this site.
| 20th December 2001 | Peter Critchley Further to what Martin has said, the details for these two artists are below:
KEITH ROCCO - he has produced a fine painting available as a print of the Defence of Rorke's Drift.

BUD BRADSHAW - born in Los Angeles, artist Bud bradshaw served with the 109th Military Intelligence Group from 1969-1971. He gradually re-entered the art field, and began working with subject matter dealing with military history and the American West. He has produced at least two paintings depicting the Anglo-Zulu war - one of the 24th Foot picquet line at Isandhlwana and the other of Lt Mevill saving the Queen's Colour 1/24th. The prints are about $110 each with $10 pp. Bud and his wife Anita reside in Southern California.
