Date | Original Topic | 18th March 2004 | wax seal By jim Hi there
I know that the Martini cartridges were wrapped in bundles of 10 and tied with twine?
But was there also a wax seal?
Thanks
Jim | Date | Replies | 20th March 2004 | Adrian Whiting Jim,
The 10 round bundles did not have a wax seal. The ammunition boxes themselves had a paper explosives seal, not wax though.
The relevant MHR cartridge - "Cartridge Small Arm Ball MH Rifle Rolled Case (Mark III)" - contained a beeswax wad. A millboard disc sat over the powder, then the wax wad, another millboard disc and then the paper wrapped bullet. This might be the source of any suggestions about a wax "seal".
I hope this assists.

Thanks for the info
Very helpful
