Date | Original Topic | 26th December 2004 | Memoirs By Bruce Mathews Does anyone know how i could get hold of memoirs written by the soldiers at rorke's drift. I have the "red soldier" but would like to learn more about the lives of people like Chard, Bromhead etc
Thanks

The book for you is 'Rork's Drift' by those who were there.' Its a compilation of all the first hand accounts of the battle. Fascinating stuff. I don't have my copy to hand so can't quote you an ISBN but type RRW into your search engine - scan for the Brecon Museum of the Regiment - and go to the shop section.

Actually the 'shop' section of this website is wired in to the RRW shop. Look to your left on the page. The book by Alan Baynham Jones and Lee Stevenson that I'm talking about, is on the second page of the 'Publications - Victorian and Zulu War' section.
