Forum members with an interest may wish to know that the new issue of Toy Soldier magazine (usually available at your local WHS) is devoted to the Zulu War and features the new Britains range of figures (mentioned elsewhere on other threads) together with a look at other Zulu War figures. There is a big article on Rorke's Drift by Ian Knight too plus something on conversions. All good stuff and worth having a look at if you are "into" this sort of thing.

Dear Haydn,

Are you referring to the Toy Soldier and Model Figure magazine, and is it the April 2008 issue Question

Many thanks,

Dewi.

Toy Soldier and Model Figure magazine, details on the Toy Soldier site, including magazine front cover illustration and content details.

Underneath it states May 2008 issue, but you may want to check.

Mind you, it also says on sale 1/4/08, which is today !

Whether the same issue, or the one before, I know not.

Coll,

Thanks very much, I've had a look at the site and I believe it is the May 2008 issue that is on sale from the 01/04/2008.

Many thanks,

Dewi.

Remiss of me not to mention and apologies for not responding earlier but yes, as you have "figured" out (excuse the pun!), it is the May 2008 issue (No.120)of "Toy Soldier & Model Figure" magazine that I was referring to; 3.95 (or $8.50 to our colonial friends Wink !).

Incidentally, a footnote to the Knight article mentions a forthcoming book from him, "A Companion to the Anglo-Zulu War" so something else to look out for too, perhaps?

Haydn

There are details about the book on, I think it is, the Anglo-Zulu War site.

Apparently, the book is like an A-Z encyclopedia of little-known facts of the campaign, mentioning that it fills the gaps in the story.

Plus other bits-and-pieces of information.
