I have been offered a copy of the above book. It is a very visual book with color reproductions of many famous images and for that reason alone I will add it to my collection, however I cannot find much information about it and it does not appear in many bibliographies.
Do any of the more knowledgeable members have any opinions about this particular book?

Damian,

It is a "pretty coffee table book" in my opinion.

The text is same as the author's Zulu War, so if you have that you have the text! All that adds to the book are the illustrations.

Thanks
That confirms my suspicions. It is very visually appealing and for that reason alone it is an excellent addition to my library.

Damian,

A nice book to add to one's library. Should come in illustrated slip case. Expect to pay 75+ for a good copy. I have seen some offered for in excess of 500!

Enjoy.

I bought my copy from a bookseller for Rand 2,750 (Approx GBP 183) numbered 988 of a series of 1000 copies published by Purnells SBN 360 003206. The most interesting aspect of the book in my opinion is the lantern style pictures which i have not come across in other publications of AZW. The photos differ from the normal sets offered in more recent publications, and thus make this an interesting addition to any collection.
