A relative was a soldier in the above and joined probably 1872 - 1879 - in 1881 he was shown on a document as "limited pensioner "

Can any body tell me where I can find out more about him and any service in the Zulu wars

His name was Robert Edmund Bach born 1858

thanks

It is quite simple if he was discharged before 1882, then his service documents would held in box WO97/1878 or after that date in box WO97/2227. Each of these boxes contain about 300 sets of papers and are held in the National Archives at Kew (they are on paper - therefore not viewable through the internet). if you are unable to go to Kew - then employ a researcher - click on to 'getting started' and select independent researchers - negotiate the fee.
