I notice that there is a very useful book for sale on the ActionExplorer website (http://www.auctionexplorerbooks.com/home.html). The book is Langalibalele and the Natal Carbineers edited by R.O Pearse et al. It will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the Bushman's River Campaign, and allow you to accumulate some hard evidence in support of your favourite soldier. Reserve price is about US$40. From the Home screen, click on the Preview Button and look for item No. 40.

Yes, this is an excellent book for anyone curious about Durnford's early exploits in South Africa and the reason for the ill-feeling directed at him by many.

It usually sells for much more than $40. Been quite rare it seems a v. good price to me.
