Hi all,
I was wondering whether any contributors make it to the Chatham military fair? Is it a good place to find and sell Zulu war related items?

As I am saying goodbye to my collection I hope to see some of you there?

Sorry Alan for any cheeky advertising breeches but I am keen that my collection goes to the good homes of fellow enthusiasts.

All the best to all.

Carl

Despite living in Kent, (Nr Dover), advertising an event north of the Medway, does not reach us unless it is a National Event. Could you please enlighten us all as to the "Chatham Military Fair", what else is on, and where to find you (begging bowl in hand for your cast-offs) Wink and I will make the effort to see you.

Regards

JK

Hi You are more than welcome to any and all my 'cast offs' as I am keen that they go to fellows of our ilk.

I went to the Chatham Military fair over ten years ago it was a hangar type of building under cover with lots of tables selling militaria from all periods. Most was 1st and 2nd world wars but some older stuff was there.

it was certainly a nice way to spend a Sunday morning. Please see the website for directions etc.

if any contributors are coming please do make yourself known to me you may even get an RDVC discount. I will have a stall with a large zulu shield behind with firearms, bayonets and spears on the table. I will also be selling lots of books, pictures and prints.

Neil this may be last opportunity to get that Snider Carbine with good bore to add to your MH collection?

Hi Paul,
I have a shield that has been in my collection for over 20 years. I secured it along with a stabbing assegai, throwing spear and Knobkerrie that had hob nails (used) decorating the ball.

The owner was a descendent of a soldier of the 13th and the items were said to be from the battle of Khambula.

I will be keeping the stabbing assegai but the throwing spear and shield will be on sale (reluctantly Crying or Very sad ) The knobkerrie was sold to a collector a few years ago now.

I also have two smaller shields for sale (tourist pieces)

PM me your email address if you want some pics and details.

Carl
