If you're developing an Isandhlwana only script and having Durnford and Pulleine as the main characters (probably in the same spirit as Chard and Bromhead in ZULU!) that would be a great point of conflict. Totally agree with that Coll.

Hope the humour wasn't TOO out of place Embarassed

I have an idea for a remake, it involves removing the 24th in place of Imperial Stormtroopers, replacing the Zulus with Sand People, and instead of africa they are on the desert planet of Tattooine...... now there is an idea Cool

but keep entirely the dialogue from "Zulu Dawn" as it was recorded in 1979.

That's a fan film for TheForce.net... seriously some of the stuff they do there is worthy of the big screen. I was actually thinking of a Master and Commander spoof but that sounds better.

Though that's an awful lot of sandpeople you're talking about hehehe!

Yeah well maybe someone united the Tusken Raider tribes, and they are threatening the local Moisture Farmers homesteads. The Moisture farmers obviously trust the Imperials as much as they would Jawa's so they remain in the middle as the Tusken king and the Imperial Navy are at war.

I think the E11 blaster has a slightly higher rate of fire then the Martini though.

and yeah the starwars fan films can be excellent "Troops" came to mind when I thought up my Zulu Dawn re-make.

Did you catch the sequel to troops? IMPS: The Relentless? That was darn impressive. Production values are like... out of this world... if only we could have more AZW enthusiasts doing that...

Another great fan film is Art of the Sabre... maybe a remake based on the last stand of Melvill and Coghill?

I'm betting though that if they did an AZW you'll see the Zulu Warriors doing... kung fu (in slow motion no less).

Now back to our regular scheduled programming...

Imps: The Relentless - 212mb but it's worth it!
http://theforce.net/fanfilms/shortfilms/imps/index.asp

Troops - 30mb a classic (can you imagine them in blue patrol jackets or scarlet tunics with pith helmets and Martini-Henrys?)
http://theforce.net/fanfilms/shortfilms/troops/

Art of the Sabre - 30mb I'm imagining a Prince Imperial project here...
http://theforce.net/fanfilms/fxprojects/artofthesaber/index.asp

They can do it, why can't we?

(in my hammiest Peter Lorre accent) I heard that roomor tooo... poor devihlsss...

Seriously, I heard that it was in Monty Python And the Meaning of Life... details escape me though... (never saw it - but perhaps others here have?)

No prob Very Happy IMPS is really a treat to watch - it's so WELL DONE but it continues in the comic vein of TROOPS. Particularly like that squabble between the two 'bounty hunters' - and it's interesting to know there are female Storm Troopers too (apparently the Empire is an Equal Opportunity Employer, good on em!)

Cheers,

The ZULU/ ZULU DAWN spoof in MONTY'S PYTHON'S THE MEANING OF LIFE is described in Chapter 19 of my book, ZULU: WITH SOME GUTS BEHIND IT. The movie is readily available on DVD (at least in the UK).

There has been a lot of comments about only Pulleine and Durnford being the only main characters. I disagree. I think, if there was a remake then you need Chelmsford as a main charater, also Pulleine and Durnford, Melvill and Coghill and a main character as a private soldier in one of the 24th Companies.
