I remember my attention was brought to this engagement (by Martin?), when it was covered in a documentary a couple of years ago.

I've now seen that there are 2 books about or include it -

Storm Front. by Rowland White.

SAS Operation Storm: Nine Men Against Four Hundred.
by Roger Cole.

Might be worth a look.

PS. Wasn't the 'Black Hawk Down' engagement also compared to Rorke's Drift, or was it the Alamo ?

Black Hawk Down was more like Custer's Last Stand.

Except perhaps that the defense of Rorke's Drift and the operation by the Allies, particularly the Rangers, in Mogadishu back in '93 (?) both successfully achieved their respective goals while at the same time inflicting inequitable loses on a numerically superior but far less powerfully armed enemy. "Black Hawk Down" can give the impression of it having been a defeat for the Allies in Somalia, but it certainly wasn't a Little Big Horn.
