Looking for a comic strip-- |

Silly as it sounds, I am looking for a copy of a comic strip I remember reading years ago in the newspaper and wish I had kept...and yes, it is related to the Zulu War. I believe it was a comic strip called "Frank and Ernest", a popular comic strip here in the USA. It showed the buffoons , Frank and Ernest dressed in Victorian British Army uniforms, pith helmets and all. One of them is lying in a pup tent while the other stands over him at the opening of the tent. Behind the tent, on the hill, the horizon is lined with Zulu warriors. The fellow standing over the one in the tent is saying, something to the effect of: "No, it's not a train, guess again."--an obvious reference to the rythmic chant in the movie, "Zulu".
I thought it really funny when I read it and have always remembered it all these years. Does anyone have a copy of it?...or can point me in the direction of a copy? Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks. Bill Moyers [email protected] |

Ah well, I tried all sorts of keywords and couldn't find it either.
Still, there are a lot of funny cartoons there anyway. Bit of a lucky dip! Regards |

I recall there is a comic strip relating the Zulu War in the regimental archives somewhere. There is also a book(let) on the lines of '1066 and all that' - 'Isandlwana and all that' with cartoons. You will have to wait until I return from KZN.
