Does anyone know if the collar and cuffs were trimmed in green on the officer's dress tunic? I have seen mention only in passing that the undress frock did not have the colourful facings of the dress tunic, but there were no details.

Thanks,
John

Dear John

The facings are (grass or willow) green if you are referring to the full dress tunic. However the tunic worn overseas, i,e. during the Frontier and Zulu wars could be different.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the information. My understanding is most officers in the AZW wore the officer's undress frock coat, which had a collar in regimental green but the sleeve facings were scarlet as the coat with gold lace appropriate to their rank. I am also finding that officers seemed to have rather wide latitude in dress.

Thanks again,
John
