Anyone else notice in 'Gladiator' the Goths on the hill were chanting in Zulu? Ridley Scott swiped the singing from 'Zulu' and put it into 'Gladiator'..
I tried to find someone from the 'Zulu' production team, but to no avail.
If you want to check it, watch 'Gladiator'..about three minutes in to the film, where Russell Crowe says, 'On my command, unleash hell'...and then in 'Zulu'. the first charge of the tribesmen where Michael Caine says, 'At one hundred yards....'
Wonder how they got away with the theft? Jim.

You are far from the first to have noticed this 'tribute' to ZULU! Try searching the old Discussion Forum back catalogue and you will find many references to it. If you listen to Scott and editor Pietro Scalia's audio commentary for this sequence on the GLADIATOR DVD you will find that they refer to the film's use of Zulu war cries but not specifically to ZULU as the source (though it obviously is).
