It was a private publication by his family.

What a purchase, I've been chasing a copy of that book for years.

Hello Andy,
There is currently one copy of this book for sale listed on the Abebooks.com website.

Thanks Harold - Sadly I'll have to wait until I can find one more affordable than the 105 plus p&p from the US.

Thanks for the tip off though.

Andy

You're quite welcome, Andy. It's a bit out of my price range, too! But Abebooks.com is a good search engine/source for out-of-print and hard to find books. I've been using it for years with good results.
Cheers,
Harold

Thanks for your replies. I hope i am not transgressing any rules by supplying my booksellers name but as he has been mentioned previously here goes [email protected] Ian Halford was previously resident in Undeberg SA but has relocated to the UK. He has details of 2 of these books.

I use Abebooks and occasionally Amazon but have learnt that www.bookfinder.com searches all these and other book dealers. This is useful when searching forb that rare book

This is interesting. Thanks. Abebooks.com acquired Bookfinder.com some time ago, and Amazon.com is about to acquire Abebooks.com! In terms of book search engines, it may be a smaller world than we realize!
Regards,
Harold

105!!! I feel rather guilty to admit that I acquired my copy for only a fiver - although it was over 25 years ago in Hay-on-Wye; not so far, I suppose, from Brecon itself.

Isn't the original diary at Brecon nowadays, or in the NMA?

Peter,

You are indeed a very lucky man (!) - I paid a tad more for my copy from Clarke's in Cape Town several years ago. [My copy was formerly owned by a member of the Coghill family]

I was very disappointed that when my book dealer contacted the seller (Abebooks) he was informed that they no longer had it
Thats the second order in a week that i have had from sellers declining the order.
If the book is sold surely they have an obligation to remove it promptly

Robin,

Not sure if you're still after a copy of this book, but there is another copy avail at:

Well, at long last it arrived, from a different source but very good condition. I was surprised it was a 1968 publication, thought it would have been earlier
Final cost R2000 or just under GBP140
Now, what shall i hunt down next?
