I had always assumed 1966 to be the publication year, the author's preface being dated 19th April of that year. It's possible, I suppose, being a privately published work, that an interval elapsed between then and publication. Does the year 1968 appear in your copy somewhere?

140!!! Looks as if the fiver my copy cost was well spent!

Well, you had me baffled until another careful inspection has revealed to me the printing details you mention, concealed in my copy by an errata slip pasted down on the lower half of page 4, immediately below Copyright by Patrick Coghill. Underneath, I can now just make out:

1968
Reprinted 1969
Printed by Reliance Printing Works, Halesowen, Worcestershire

which is interesting in that it went to a second printing. I didn't know that. Thanks for getting me to look more closely.

Yes, the "add-ons" can certainly mount up. I bought a book yesterday from RSA for much less than I expected to, so I might treat myself by paying for airmail, although that would probably almost double the cost!

Dominated as I am in Australia by the 'tyranny of distance', I have found myself in the unhappy position of paying $10 for a book and three times that for postage and packing. That's how the world wags, it seems!

Robin,

Delighted to hear that you have a copy at last. Enjoy!

(as an aside, my copy states 1968)
