Dear Andrew,

Whilst I understand where you are coming from, these book dealers are operating a 'con' by advertising the books before they are actually published (printed) and as soon as you place an order you are charged. Sometimes I cannot complete on price - but the museum cannot sell items at a loss.

We are in touch with most of the publishers and authors so we do know what is going to appear and when about new publications on AZW. So if you require a reliable update please contact us or join the 'Zulu Club' on our website.

Remember, also that the AZW is an important, but only short period in our regimental history, so I might not be as up to speed with the campaign as you because I have a wider brief which includes WW1 and WW2 which are larger in manpower terms. However I will be in KZN for 3 weeks in January and hopefully be able to talk to Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill about their future plans as well helping David Rattray at first hand on his new book about WW LLoyd which I feel will be the most interesting addition to our knowledge on AZW for an number of years. This book will be published privately sometime towards the end of 2006.

Were you aware that Ron Lock is going to be in New Zealand in January?

Dear Dawn,

I do remember that from earlier posts. I will just have to make do with Peter Quantrill.

I'm sure Peter will do just fine.
