Hill of the Sphinx is a more recent version of the series of three articles, which were published, from memory, in 1965. Better just get the former, which will include the latter and more. KIS |

Thank you both, Keith and Robert for your very helpful thoughts.
I have decided at the end to go get both, as I can't help but be curious of what the author originally wrote in 1965, and then how it evolved into his second book. (Secondly, the books are not terribly expensive, so wont break the bank to get both.) So I've just now placed my online order from the museum at Brecon, and will now begin watching my mailbox with great anticipation. Thank you again, David |

You'll see how radically different is his account from that of Morris, who was publishing his version around the same time. One version appears to have stood the test of time, whereas the other hasn't. With few exceptions, almost all published accounts of the battle in subsequent years have broadly followed the findings of Jackson. Peter |
