Hello

Through the National Army Museum's partnership with Naval Military Press we have just printed two more AZW titles from our archives

http://www.naval-military-press.com/mr-archibald-forbes-and-the-zulu-war.html

http://www.naval-military-press.com/campaigning-in-south-africa-reminiscences-of-an-officier-in-1879-zulu-war.html

I hope these will be of interest to some of you.

best
Jon

Definitely for me. I'll be getting them. I see there are some very strong words for Lord Chelmsford....."ineptness"....."hapless". Now for that it's a must buy for me.

Please assist me with some confusion
Campaigning in South Africa

there are 2 similar titles

Campaigning in South Africa and Egypt
Major General W.C.F. Molyneaux

and

Campaigning in South Africa
republished by Leonaur as
Campaigning in Zululand
Experiences on campaign during the Zulu War of 1879 with the 94th regiment
by W.E. Montague

The new publication would thus appear to be a reprint of the latter with an ammended title (or reverting to the original)

Confusing!

Hello Robin,

These are two separate books:

Molyneux, Major-General W.C.F. Campaigning in South Africa and Egypt. London: Macmillan, 1896; New York: Macmillan, 1896; reprint, Doncaster, UK: D.P. & G. Military Publishers, 1998; reprint, Whitefish, Mont.: Kessinger Publishing, 2008. Viii + 287 pp., 4 maps. This is an excellent account of the authors experiences during the 1878 Kaffir War, 1879 Anglo-Zulu War (pp. 98-207), and 1882 British campaign in Egypt.

Montague, Captain W.E. Campaigning in South Africa: Reminiscences of an Officer in 1879. Edinburgh: William Blackwood and Sons, 1880; reprint, Doncaster, UK: D.P. & G. Military Publishers, 2004. Viii + 368 pp.; reprint (Campaigning in Zululand: Experiences on Campaign during the Zulu War of 1879 with the 94th Regiment), Driffield, UK: Leonaur, 2006. 200 pp. In this book, Capt. Montague describes his journey to northern Natal, campaign life, the Battle of Ulundi, and the aftermath of the Anglo-Zulu War, 1879.

Good reading!
