Gentlemen,
I am after a MH Carbine, there seem to be any number of full size rifles around but very few carbines. What should I expect to pay for one in good condition?

Good IC1's are getting hard to come by, expect to pay between 500-700 for a good one. You will see them with 1877+ receiver markings however as previous meesages in the Weapons section, apart from when the Lancers were shipped it is unlikely that the IC1 was used in the AZW, as production had only made 12,000 by March 1878, with production going into full swing, but only acheiving 30,000 by March of 1879, The primary carbine of the AZW being the Swinburn Henry, and then you wont get a good one for anything less than 1200 and anything up to 2000.

The cheaper Carbines are Mk2, which are cut down Mk2 rifles, from the LOC of 1892, look out for "D.P" Drill purpose, if you see this mark, inspect the area just in front of the barrel knocksform for filing marks or re-finishing,as alot of those which had been de-activated with a sawcut across the barrel are being weld filled and re-finsihed, fine as a display, but not for shot.
