Are there any sources that actually designate the area where Durnford reached with his two troops on his recon, where he stopped, eventually having to conduct a fighting retreat with the appearance of thousands of Zulus...as ‘Durnford Point’ ?

I ask this due to a somewhat similar incident at Little Bighorn, where Captain Thomas Weir moved his men out to a certain area, to ascertain the whereabouts of Custer, before having to retreat with the appearance of the advancing Indians towards him in large numbers...the area he reached actually now identified with a marker -

I did ask on FB about this and wasn’t the case, the exact area unknown, though am curious if it was ever referred to as ‘Durnford Point’ in any contemporary sources, or even later in books I’ve not noticed ?

I can only say that I've never heard the name 'Durnford point'.

There is a lighthouse of that name if I recall from FB...nothing to do with the area on the Isandhlwana battlefield though...
