Dear Forum members.
The Purfleet Heritage and Military Centre,Centurion Way,Purfleet,Essex,
will host a 'Scarlet to Khaki' event from Sunday 5th November at 10:00 until 16:00.The event will run until 2007 and focuses on the Sudan,AZW and Boer War and WWI/II.A remembrance service will also be held at St Stephens Church,Purfleet at 11:00.The Mayor of Thurrock will be in attendance,plus WW2 Vets and the Group Usuthu! I am due to visit the centre on Thursday (as I am member of Purfleet Heritage) to finalise details for the event with Richard Smith of the centre.I will report back to this forum at the end of the week with further details of notable individuals who are to attend the event.Locals may be familiar with the location of the centre,but as this venue entails some difficulty to locate by car,I will issue full directions shortly from the A13.The venue offers limited parking space,but is only a short walk from Purfleet railway station.Cheers.
