Talking previously about the short coverage of LBH in 'Into The West', reminded me of watching 'Lonesome Dove' where I was sure the two main characters ride past what is supposed to be the boarded-up Alamo chapel.

Was it ?

Thanks

Coll,

It was John Wayne's 'Alamo' at Bracketville, Texas. See http://www.thealamofilm.com/alamo-village-bracketville.shtml for more information.

Thanks John

I only caught a glimpse of the building, thinking it was more a false-front version of the Alamo. I hadn't realised it may have been the actual building used in the film. As I didn't have the video/dvd, but was watching it on a tv channel, it was a case of - was that or was that not the Alamo ?

Now I know.

Thanks again

The Brackettville set (still standing) has often been used for other films since being constructed for THE ALAMO in 1959. It was also seen on TV recently in the film BAD GIRLS.
