Hello all, just a quick note to let everyone know that a new edition of the 1886 publication JOHN DUNN, CETEWAYO AND THE THREE GENERALS 1886 is now available. The original publication represents John Dunn's autobiography, edited by D.C.F. Moodie in 1886, an invaluable source on the background to the Anglo-Zulu War, Dunn's participation in the conflict, and the subsequent political settlement so beneficial to him. Of particular note are Dunn's comments and evaluations of Cetewayo, Lord Chelmsford, Sir Garnet Wolseley, and Hope Crealock.

This new edition was prepared by Arthur Knigkrmer, Ron Lock and Peter Quantrill, who added a foreword. Unfortunately it is not a publication to be found in major bookstores, but may be ordered from:
Ron Lock
P.O. Box 2388
Hillcrest, S.A. 3650

(The cost is R280 including airmail postage to the U.K.)

Timothy,

You'll be shot for that plug!! (Sorry, Alan!)

Whilst there are some typo errors in the modern publishing, this re-print puts this interesting work out on the general market for the first time. [I am unaware of a previous re-print, but I may be wrong] As one who has been trying to get a copy of this book in my library for some years, I'm delighted to see that Ron & co have got this book out.

Well done, Ron, Peter & Arthur! And thank you.
