Rear Admiral Chris Parry, being interviewed by Nigel Farage on GBNews last night about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, mentioned 'Zulu'. I quote...
'When the Zulus first turn up, the British soldiers can't understand why they're just standing there taking shots, until the South African guy says 'look, he's counting your rifles'. That's what Putin's doing at the moment. The Russian Generals are counting their rifles'. He also said that 'Zulu' was the best war film ever. Fascinating that the film was mentioned in relation to a modern conflict. |

Even modern military types quote Zulu on a fairly regular basis - it's a cracking film and has a number of useful analogies that are true to this day. AMB [who used to quote Zulu and Zulu Dawn to my OCdts are Sandhurst] |
