"An article in the "WESTERN MAIL" a few months ago, confirms that he is alive and well, living in Spain. He was seen on the S4C program, "Yr Archif" (The Archives) recently, when a review of TWW items were shown, including the program "LAND OF SONG" which was networked throughout the UK at that time , early 60's. Hope this settles the matter." (Dated 12-Nov-01)

Larry Taylor - Hughes
http://members.tripod.com/autograph_heaven/carryon/ltaylor1.htm
Emigrated to South Africa in 1974 and was still living there in November 1999. The source says he also appeared in Zulu Dawn but the DVD doesn't list him in the credits.
Of the production staff, those who should have been on the set of Zulu include:
Bert Batt (assistant director)
Still assistant director on films and TV up to four years ago
Robin Webb (Stunts)
Born 1945. Currently president of the International Stunt School. Is stunt co-ordinator on many films, mainly in Canada, including "The Affair" (2002).
Because some of the sources are undated there is no guarantee that all the above are still alive. |
10th February 2002 | John Young Tony,
Just to confirm, Larry Taylor was the non-commissioned officer giving the orders to the cannon to fire in 'Zulu Dawn'.
Freeze-frame it and you can clearly see it is him.
John Young,
Chairman,
Anglo-Zulu War Research Society. |
