5th April 2005	The Rocket Battery and Durnford By Colum O'Rourke Was the Rocket Battery attached to Durnford from the time he broke away from the third column before the invasion, via Rorke's Drift right up to where Durnford entered Isandhlwana on January 22nd?

7th April 2005	Julian Whybra The Rocket battery was attached to Durnford's column at the time of the column's formation before the war broke out - late Nov or early Dec. The wording in your posting implies that you do not understand the sequence and nature of events quite correctly. "Broke away"???? Some background reading from a good overall history of the campaign - Ian Knight's Zulu - would help you.
